5 tips to make your hen do more eco friendly

I will start by saying that I’m not an eco-expert, but here are a few ideas I’ve come up with based on my experience of hosting hen do’s:

  1. Go local - or at least stay in the UK. This will mean you avoid air travel, and should also help keep the cost down

  2. Recycle - pick decorations and goodie bags that you can recycle. Go for paper pom poms, banners and goodie bags, and avoid glitter like the plague!

  3. Avoid waste - if you are staying in a house they will likely have plates, cups and glasses already. So save yourself some money and help the planet at the same time by using them as opposed to buying one use, hen do specific bits

  4. Save water - hopefully where you’re going will have a dishwasher. And, as they use less water than washing up by hand, use it! Just make sure it’s full before turning it on. This will also free up time for you to have some fun

  5. Think about your themes - I’m very much up for themes, but try and think of themes where people will be able to use the items again, i.e. a pool party theme for example. Anything too niche will only end up being worn once which is a waste and also unnecessary expenditure
